Excellent working conditions
Bettina Bakdal makes these products in her own studio in Copenhagen. They are crafted by hand and touched by the designer from start to finish, and each one is unique.
Up cycled fabric as raw material
This product is made of Up Cycled material, collected from second hand suppliers or from Bettina’s travels. Bettina is incredible in the way she considers the quality of a raw material and use Visible Mending as part of her process. If the fabric itself is sturdy and high-quality, but has a small hole or spot on it, she makes a deliberate and visible repair of the damage, so it in fact elevates the product even more. The carments that are not second hand are bought Dead Stock, left over rolls from the conventional fashion or interior industry.
This product does not contain any animal material or byproduct from animals.
Low Transport Footprint
This product has a low Transport Footprint, as the journey it takes from us to your door is shipped with DHL, which is working to achieve zero emissions by 2050.
Made to Order
This product is initially made on demand. We’ve produced a few and will continue to produce some products here and there. But we love when you are able to choose from the fabrics we have available, and get a product made for you personally.
This product reduces waste and elevates the value of things that where to be thrown away, and of course by giving value to something considered to be waste.
Each product is crafted and made by hand. It is meant to last in your wardrobe for a long time, and be loved and cherished.
Supporting Traditional Skills
Bettina works with craftsmanship and sustainable thinking at her core. Everything from idea to process and production is made in her own studio in the heart of Copenhagen. The way she has been working with vintage materials, such as old silk dresses, silk scarves, shirts, bed linen and tablecloths has been part of her concept all the way, just refining it, elevating the feeling of fashion as art. Bettina works artistically with compositions of patterns/ prints and colors, so that each simple dress gets its own expression.
Made to be straight and wide, but also cool with a belt. Choose a smaller size if you want it more fitted.
Emma is 168 cm and wears a size M
