How it's made

This product is made keeping chemicals to a minimum, and all use is controlled. Mørck only collaborate with tanneries who comply with the EU regulations in regards to the use and outlet of chemicals (REACH) Parts of the tanning process is also party or 100 % vegetable. The leather is treated in Iceland or Finland.

Labour Welfare

Mørck visit the factories they work with and choose them based on experience and on the fact that they meet European standards for health and safety, and labor regulations.

Supporting traditional skills

Mørck only use natural and traditional materials. Salmon and reindeer were important factors of survival for the early settlers in the north thousands of years ago. Now Mørck combine ancient material traditions with modern design and solid craftsmanship.

Small collections made to last

Leather from salmon and reindeer is by nature a limited resource. There are practical limits for manufacture. Consequently, the collections by Mørck will inevitably be small, high quality and exclusive.

Animal welfare

Mørck only use leather from livestock animals that have free range of movement and are from farmers treating animals with respect when it comes to protection, breeding and health. The salmon is however an exception here, since the fish skin is sourced from fish farming. The supplier from Iceland is still selected because of the cold climate, which ensures little use of medicine against salmon louse and antibiotics. The reindeer is sourced from Finland where they are part of livestock kept in the free.

Organic Holistic Leather

All leather used in the making of this product is guaranteed from livestock. The animals are part of existing agriculture and the whole animal is used for food purposes etc. The reindeer leather is also from animals living in their natural habitat, getting their food supply directly from nature and spending their life outside.
