Raquel makes your product in her own studio in Portugal. It is made by hand and touched by the designer or her tailors from start to finish.

Made to Order

This product is initially made on demand. We’ve produced a few and will continue to produce some products here and there. But we love when you are able to choose from the fabrics we have available, and get a product made for you personally. All Muta Studio pieces can also be adjusted to your own measurements or changed in other ways you might want. You can also change up  fabrics, patterns and colors. Choose the option Costume Made on the size option and we will follow up.

Organic Cotton as raw material

This product is grown in compliance with organic agricultural standards that protect the environment and wildlife. Natural methods are used to manage soil quality, diseases, and other issues that arise during the farming process. It is not made with use of synthetic fertilizers or herbicides that strip land of nutrients, and artificial chemicals and GM (Genetically Modified) crops are banned.

Organic products do not produce sewage sludge or ionizing radiation, and the organic materials have been sourced with use of natural pesticides. The treatment of the material is also chemical free and holistic.

Vegan

This product does not contain any animal material or byproduct from animals.

High Quality

Each product is crafted and made by hand. It is meant to last in your wardrobe for a long time, and be loved and cherished.

Non Toxic

The raw material of this product is not treated or made with the use of  chemicals.

Biodegradable

This product is biodegradable and can be composted in a compost bin with other biodegradable materials when worn out. The thread must be removed later on as this will not biodegrade.

Supporting Traditional Skills

All products are made in the designers studio in Portugal by skilled tailors and designer Raquel herself. This way they are able to support and create work for locals crafters,  give economic growth to this community, and strengthening the knowledge of old techniques and hand-made arts.

Low Transport Footprint

This product has a low Transport Footprint, as the journey it takes from us to your door is shipped with DHL, who are working to achieve zero emissions by 2050.

Muta Studio is situated in Portugal, a country with many textile resources, and they’ve got a multitude of locally made resources right next to their studio.

Waste Reduction

Raquel and Muta Studio focuses on reducing  waste to the max, both by making their products as much as possible on demand, not before they are ordered, but also by using small batch and high quality materials.
