Raquel makes your product in her own studio in Portugal. It is made by hand and touched by the designer or her tailors from start to finish.

Made to Order

This product is initially made on demand. We’ve produced a few and will continue to produce some products here and there. But we love when you are able to choose from the fabrics we have available, and get a product made for you personally. All Muta Studio pieces can also be adjusted to your own measurements or changed in other ways you might want. You can also change up  fabrics, patterns and colors. Choose the option Costume Made on the size option and we will follow up.

Upcycled Fabric as raw material

This fabrics, a 100% cotton fabric from India comes from Muta’s travels around the world. The beautiful print is hand made by an ancient technique block print and natural and vegetable dyes and no chemicals. Muta love to mix up the locally sourced fabric with small batches of  fabrics with history and tradition. These fabrics are part of Muta’s archive and this also makes  it limited with reduced quantities in  number of pieces. When fabric is gone, products are gone.

Vegan

This product does not contain any animal material or byproduct from animals.

High Quality

Each product is crafted and made by hand. It is meant to last in your wardrobe for a long time, and be loved and cherished.

Low Toxic

The raw material of this product is handprinted with vegetable dye, but the base colour contains chemicals. These are treated in a proper manner, not disposed in nature during colouring process or after its done.

Supporting Traditional Skills

All products are made in the designers studio in Portugal by skilled tailors and designer Raquel herself. This way they are able to support and create work for locals crafters,  give economic growth to this community, and strengthening the knowledge of old techniques and hand-made arts.

Low Transport Footprint

This product has a low Transport Footprint, as the journey it takes from us to your door is shipped with DHL, which is working to achieve zero emissions by 2050.

Waste Reduction

Raquel and Muta Studio focuses on reducing  waste to the max, both by making their products as much as possible on demand, not before they are ordered, but also by using small batch and unique traditional materials.  This product reduces waste and elevates the value of things that were to be thrown away, and of course by giving value to something considered to be waste.
