Designer: Tonje Plur
This designer shows an incredible sense of layering in her design. Not only through story and process behind each collection, but also in the way she uses her instinct, as if the craftsmanship almost surfaces THROUGH her process.
“I work primarily with communication through textile techniques that spring from a thematic backdrop. As a textile artist and clothing designer, I work conceptually with clothes and textiles with an emphasis on craftsmanship, surfaces and technique. I alternate between forms of expression and formats, but constantly return to topics that are about how we humans relate to each other and to our surroundings, society and time. The works relate either directly to the human body, or are textile surfaces where the presence of man comes in as references or themes ”
